Path to Citizenship

Are you a Canadian Immigrant? Settling in Canada from another country comes with a lot of challenges. Canada is a great country and the Canadian system has its own particularities, which sometimes differ from one province to another within the same country.

In order to feel welcomed in the community, and participate socially, culturally and economically, The Grande Prairie Centre for Newcomers has teamed up with the GP Public Library to ensure immigrants in Grande Prairie receive the appropriate information to adapt successfully to life in Canada by offering “Citizenship Education”.

This program will introduce you to what you should know about Canada starting with Canada’s History to how you can establish your credit or buy your first home. Attending these classes help newcomers increase their knowledge of Canada and connections with others in the community. This will also prepare you for the Canadian citizenship test.

Who can participate in the program?

This program is designed for landed immigrants, permanent residents, and refugees of Canada.

The program is free to attend, but a registration is required. Contact us at 780.538.4452 or info@gpcn.ca
