About this Program

Grande Prairie Centre for Newcomers provides support services to Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs)  and their families in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas. We serve as a bridge between TFWs, the community, and employment.

 

 

Who is eligible?

 

A Temporary Foreign Worker is a foreign national who has been authorized to enter and remain in Canada as a worker for a specific period of time, often with a specified employer.

 

 

Our Services

 

  • Bilingual services in English and French

  • Orientation to life in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and Canada

  • Information on accessible programs and services in the community

  • Information on rights and responsibilities, and about applicable municipal, provincial, and federal programs  and services 

  • Referral to appropriate community and government services and resources 

  • Individual, family, and group supports

 

To access our free services, you must provide 

 

 

Our staff frequently run workshops, where you will learn about the benefits you can receive as a temporary foreign worker.
